Skin health is fundamental to all our philosophy for your patients at the Jonathan Britto Clinic. Offering a route to well-conditioned, vibrant skin is what we do! These are standalone programs for skin, combination programmes for gut health, skin health, and lifestyle medicine, and combination programmes to accompany facelift, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty and brow lift procedures.
Our skin is our bodies’ largest organ – protection against a harsh environment and our sensory means to interact with that environment. Modern advances now allow very bespoke ways to boost the skin with ‘next – level’ technology delivered in clinic for safe, effective skin protection, skin maintenance, and pro-active skin health.
New regenerative injectable treatments, which work differently to traditional fillers, are growing in popularity – providing not just a sfae volume boost, but also ‘injectable regeneration’.
At the Jonathan Britto Clinic our surgical patients benefit from our unique ‘Condition and Maintain’ programmes which get the skin ready for surgery, facilitate the recovery, and maintain the results. This is achieved with a guided regime incorporating topical skin actives with in-clinic skin conditioning treatments.
Regenerative aesthetics for skin rejuvenation and skin health restoration has become an increasing part of a ‘complete’ aesthetic practise as demand for natural rejuvenation without the risks of obvious volume augmentation grows. This is a welcome change and fits perfectly with the Jonathan Britto Clinic ethos of ‘keeping it natural’. As we move rapidly with these exciting developments, we are able to harness the technologies and integrate them seamlessly into our skin health programmes and surgical practices.
The language used in this field of aesthetics can be confusing and encompasses a range of terms including bio-stimulators, bio-modulators, skin boosters, and bio-fillers to name but a few.
As with all our recommendations at the Jonathan Britto Clinic, we select the appropriate treatment to the clinical needs of our patients. We are not limited to specific products or brand-names and we can hand-pick products and procedures that will benefit the individual patient.
Below are some of the skin conditioning procedures that are available:
Exosomes
Exosomes are tiny membrane-bound vesicles secreted by almost all cells in the body. They carry proteins, nucleic acids and other bioactive molecules. They act as a ‘taxi’ service delivering materials and involved in cell-to-cell communication acting as ‘messengers’, playing a role in many physiological and pathological processes.
Exosomes are the latest skin health technology targeting the causes of skin ageing and improving overall tissue stability. Exosomes that replicate our skins natural production, can be applied topically often in conjunction treatments such as microneedling to promote additional rejuvenation, stimulating collagen production, reducing inflammation, improving skin texture, reducing wrinkles, and enhancing the skin’s natural healing processes.
Additional to rejuvenation, Exosomes are used for improved wound healing, hair regrowth, and pigmentation.
Profhilo
Profhilo is a non-crossed linked, hyaluronic acid (HA) based injectable which re-models the tissues to treat skin laxity and texture. Using patented technology, a hybrid product is formed combining high and low molecular HA without the use of any chemical cross linking. The HA’s are the support mechanism of the skin, and the environment in which the cells of the skin undertake repair and ‘housekeeping’.
Replenishing the skins hyaluronic acid and stimulating collagen, the support and density of the skin is improved. The product can be reasonably described as “an injectable moisturiser”, best used when textural changes are required rather than volume restoration.
Profhilo is not just limited to the face and is successfully used on the neck, décolleté, hands and arms. It is suitable for men and women of all ages and offers a perfect preventative treatment for younger patients wanting to be proactive in skin ageing.
One to three treatments sessions are recommended spaced four weeks apart. Profhilo is easily combined with skin health programmes to achieve radiant smooth skin.
Mesotherapy
Optimal skin health and conditioning relies on ‘feeding’ the skin with the essential nutrients it needs to function both from the inside and out, stimulating the skin into active cellular turnover and repair, replenishing collagen for firm, youthful skin. Applied separately or in combination therapies, mesotherapy supports the nutrition and provides the stimulation needed for glowing skin.
Mesotherapy cocktails rich in antioxidants, peptides and growth factors, delivered to where it’s needed, support skin nutrition which enables optimal function and support. Treatments for both the face and body can be tailor made by skilfully blending mesotherapy ingredients to provide a uniquely personalised treatment addressing a multitude of skin concerns.
Four to six treatments sessions are recommended spaced two – four apart.
Mesotherapy is recommended for:
• Pigmentation
• Skin tightening
• Cellulite reduction
• Lines and wrinkles
• Spot fat removal
• Alopecia
Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are the latest revolutionary tools in regenerative medicine that work on a cellular level to repair tissue and boost skin quality.
They are delivered into the skin via injectable gels, stimulating fibroblasts which encourages cell turnover, improves elasticity, boosts collagen and elastin production and hydrates the skin.
Polynucleotides are fragmented DNA which when injected into the skin will trigger the optimal extra cellular environment for improved skin health.
Polynucleotide treatments work very differently from conventional aesthetic injectables due to their unique regenerative properties and ability to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes.
Polynucleotides
• Act as a humectant (attracts water).
• Serve as a free radical scavenger, creating an ideal environment for fibroblast growth.
• Signal to the cells to improve perfusion with blood vessels. This means that increased fluid from the blood vessels will leak into the Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM).
• Stimulate fibroblasts to create more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
• Stimulate stem cells. In particular Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) which activate dermal fibroblasts into activity.
• Reduce inflammation (one of the biggest causes of intrinsic and extrinsic ageing).
• Regulate melanogenesis (pigmentation).
• Stimulate tissue reconstruction and repair.
Two – four treatments sessions are recommended spaced two – four weeks apart. Additionally, polynucleotide treatments can be combined with other treatments to address a wider range of aesthetic concerns.

Skin conditioning using bio stimulating products are rapidly becoming the go to treatment of choice. Offering a safe, effective, and scientifically proven solution for skin regeneration, these treatments enhance skin health naturally. By turning the biological clock back, one can recapture their youthful appearance without any sign of intervention.
At the Jonathan Britto Clinic we offer our skin conditioning treatments to our non-surgical patient’s and our surgical patients who benefit from our unique ‘Condition and Maintain’ programmes, supporting their recovery, outcomes and longevity of results
For as long as attention to skin health maintenance is paid!
The skin is a living organ that is constantly undergoing a process of cellular growth, death and repair. As we age that ability for repair and growth of new cells diminishes and this contributes to the ageing process. This can be further accelerated by sun exposure, poor diet, stress and inadequate attention to skin health.
The evidence is that skin health and lifestyle medicine programmes work! Reverse the damage, treat the cause, maintain the habit – and your skin will reward you!
Very!
By manipulating the biology of the skin for repair and regeneration we gain not just better skin health but improved skin aesthetics – our mentored programmes are designed to support and protect you. The right trajectory for your skin, with minimal risk.
There are many benefits to optimising your skins health before and after surgery with our unique ‘Condition and Maintain’ programmes.
Healthy skin be able to recover much more effectively and in a controlled response so aiding in scar healing and avoiding post traumatic skin disorders such as post inflammatory pigmentation and breakouts.
Healthy skin with optimal hydration and elasticity will be more compliant. The compliance and playability of the skin is valuable in surgical recovery as the soft tissue envelope contract over the underlying tissues for a smooth and contoured result.
Surgery provides form and function – by restoring the optimum relationship of the layers of the ‘soft tissue envelope’ underneath the skin. The skin is re-draped, laxity is re-tensioned, and excess is removed.
However, the quality of the skin is intrinsic to the health of the living organ. No aesthetic result is complete without attention to skin health and skin aesthetics!
We are often asked ‘how long will my surgery last’? The answer is simple, it’s down to you! Adopting lifestyle and skin health strategies will allow these improvements to achieve ‘healthy longevity!
Skin conditioning means so much more than “skin-care”. Whereas “skincare” is an industry, inevitably commercially driven, “skin health” is a medical specialty driven by evidence. We work with products and prescriptions that are effective, for health improvements that deliver aesthetic benefit, and quality of life!
Whether in synergy with surgery, or as simple standalone changes of habit to improve the quality of your skin, there is a programme for you – where you will see benefit in health, well-being, and confidence in appearance.
